Eloise ‘Ellie” (Rose) Solomon Paull
ELOISE ‘ELLIE’ (ROSE) SOLOMON PAULL, 90, of Clinton, passed peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday morning, July 8, 2019.
Ellie was born January 30, 1929, in New London, Ohio to the late Ray and Hazel (Close) Rose.
As a child she frequently moved with her family from farm to farm, as her father sought work. Eventually, they settled in the Clinton area on the Meanor Farm. She met and married John Solomon when she was 18. They had four sons together. After her husband John died suddenly at the age of 49, she worked at the telephone company, Gilmary School and other jobs to make ends meet. In 1971, she met and married Frank Paull and shortly after was elected Tax Collector for Findlay Township, a position she held for 16 years. Ellie and Paul enjoyed a wonderful life together, whether having Steeler parties, card club, dancing, or just being with friends and family. The greatest joy for them was family; their 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren were especially cherished.
She is survived by her children, John (Mary Jo) Solomon, Ronald (Bonnie) Solomon, and Randy (Kim) Solomon; her stepchildren, Frank (Susie) Paull, Judith (Allen) Linsky, Kathleen (Will) Kimbrough, Robert (Jean) Paull, Steve (Liz) Paull and Loraine Schueler. Also surviving is a sister, Glenna Mervosh.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Beverly Solomon, and a sister, Phyllis Rose.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides of Good Samaritan Hospice for the wonderful care provided her in her final days.
Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Ted Chapman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her name to the Clinton Wesleyan Church.
