Cherokee Sue Hufnagel

CHEROKEE SUE HUFNAGEL, age 78, died in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.

All arrangements are private.

Christina Catherine McKindley

CHRISTINA CATHERINE McKINDLEY, 81, formerly of Clinton, PA., passed away peacefully December 19, 2020.

Born December 16, 1939 in Beadling, PA. she was the daughter of John Balach and Anna Muscosky. A graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School, she married William McKindley on January 29, 1962.

Christina was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, William McKindley; brothers John Henry, Edward, and David; sisters Anna Mae Walnoha and Matilda Weaver.

She is survived by brothers; Al (Barb) Balach, Ted (Barb) Balach, Don (Noreen) Balach, and sister Alice Jobe. Surviving are her children Terry (John) Morrow, Kelly (Chris) Ruppen, William (Andrea) McKindley, and Erin (Jason) McGarvey, along with 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Christina’s family offers sincere appreciation to her special friends at Cranberry Place for the wonderful care she received. Due to the COVID-19 virus, there will be no visitation and a private funeral service will be held for the family.

Kyle Ghaly

KYLE GHALY, a life-long resident of southwestern Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly on November 9, 2020 at the age of 33, as a result of losing his long battle with addiction.

Kyle is survived by his parents, Jill Grover (Longstreth), Lyle Grover, John Ghaly, Cheryl Ghaly (Mason); his grandfather, Peter Longstreth; his brothers and sisters, Alyson Dellget (Pierce), Josh Ghaly, Shayla Woolfort (Grover), Ben Grover, Brianna Scanlan (Grover), Simon Ghaly; his aunt, Carol Johnston-Trax; his cousin, Sasha Johnston; and his nephews, Tristen Gilson and Jackson Ghaly. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Jean Longstreth.

Kyle was born in Pittsburgh on September 27 1987 to Jill Grover and John Ghaly. He attended West Allegheny High School, the Bradley Center, and the 5615 School for the Gifted.

Kyle was a devoted uncle, and was most at peace spending time playing with family and friends. He enjoyed sports in his youth, including ice hockey, football, and soccer. He was a skilled musician and a jokester. He enjoyed video games that challenged his perfectionist and completionist personality. He lived for good food and family eating competitions. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.

Family and friends will be received at Moody Funeral Home, 1227 Route 30, Clinton, PA 15026 on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted immediately following by family friend, Pastor Bob Hurd.

Anne L. Shope

ANNE L. SHOPE, 82, formerly of Clinton, died Wednesday morning, November 4, 2020, at the Mabank Nursing Home in Mabank, Texas.

Born July 20, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late William Sheldon and Blance (Busha) Young.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy L. Shope on June 21, 2011; her daughter, Debra A. Shope (Freeman) and two grandchildren, Terry Ray and Amber Renee; and a brother, William Young.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Nancy Shope of Texas; a sister, Josephine Kraus; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two great great grandsons.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, 1227 Route 30, Clinton on Friday, November 13, 2020 from 12 to 4 p.m. only.

Her service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

Carol J. Thomas

CAROL J. THOMAS, 74, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.) died Tuesday evening, October 27, 2020 at Cambridge Point, Beaver.

Born June 27, 1946, in Crafton, a daughter of the late Thomas C. Sr. and Laura June (May) Hughes. She was a homemaker, and a devoted member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Aliquippa, where she spent many hours volunteering in the childcare program.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman H. Thomas, February 20, 2018. They were married for 51 years at the time of his passing. She was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas C. Hughes Jr., and a brother-in-law, George Thomas, II.

Surviving are her sons, Mark W. and Lori Thomas, Imperial, and Michael S. Thomas, Aliquippa; her siblings, Kenneth R. and Debbie Hughes, Clinton; William C. and Pat Hughes, Aliquippa; Keith L. and Kathy Hughes, Clinton; Dewayne E. Hughes, Clinton; and Leah A. and Skip Clydesdale, Clinton; and a sister-in-law, Barb Hughes, Clinton. Her cherished grandchildren are Lindsay, Hannah, Cassidy, and Dane.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, on Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Her service will be conducted Monday, November 2, at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, 846 Route 18, Aliquippa. PA. 15001, with her pastor, the Rev. Richard Herbster. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. She will be laid to rest privately in the Clinton UP Church Cemetery.

Due to Covid-19 CDC guidelines, the family ask visits be brief, masks be worn, and practice social distancing.

Lynn Guyaux, Jr.

LYNN GUYAUX, JR., 89, of Hanover Township, died early Sunday morning, August 30, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn Guyaux, Sr., mother, Ellen (Gorski) Guyaux; two brothers, John and Rick Guyaux; and four sisters, Jean Lilly, Catherine Batista, Ida Druga, and Virginia Boocks.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Joanne (Ponticel) Guyaux, and three children and their spouses; Lynn Guyaux III (Janice) of Beaver, PA., Vickie Lynn (Clifford) Crighton of Georgetown, PA., and Lee Richard Guyaux (Laura) of Center Township, PA.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral services for Mr. Guyaux, Jr., will be private. He will be buried in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery, Imperial, PA.

Dorothy J. Herrold

DOROTHY J. HERROLD, age 89, of Clinton, PA., (Findlay Township) died quietly Monday afternoon, August 17, 2020 in the comfort of her home with family at her side.

Born October 9, 1930, in Imperial, PA., she was a daughter of the late John R. Sr., and Lena (Ehle) Lee.

She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Herrold; dearest mother of Richard (Chris) Herrold, Ken (Mary) Herrold, and Debra (Dave) Roman; sister of Ronald (Carol) Lee and Virginia Selinsky, and the late Robert Lee, John Lee Jr., and Carrie Masters; grandmother of four, step-grandmother of two, great-grandmother of three.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions the family has chosen immediate cremation with no services planned.

Her remains, and the remains of her late husband will be interred in the Clinton U.P. Church Cemetery.

Tina R. Dopudja

Tina R. (McCullough) Dopudja, age 55, of Robinson Township, PA, passed away suddenly in her home on August 13, 2020.

She was born in Bainbridge, GA, on August 28, 1964. Tina worked in accounting for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Michael, of Chester, WV. and her beloved mother, Gloria McCullough of Clinton, PA; sisters Donna Messner of Aliquippa, PA., Kay (Ken) Craig of Clinton, PA., Kristie (Dave) Horner of Hookstown, PA.; brothers Charles (Georgiana) Whittaker of Donalsonville, GA., Frank McCullough of Chester, WV., Bear (Hallie) McCullough of Hookstown, PA., and Neal (Nathania) McCullough of Moon Township, PA.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold “Tuffy” McCullough; a sister, Sheila Lane, and two brothers, Bunky Whittaker and Randy Whittaker.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, a private visitation and service will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2020. She will be laid to rest at Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery in Imperial, PA.

Tina had a deep fondness for animals, especially dogs. The family has suggested that memorial contributions can be made to Animal Friends or ASPCA. Or, if preferred, flowers can be sent to Moody Funeral Home, Clinton, PA.

Marian Z. Leake

MARIAN Z. LEAKE, Age 96 (March 24, 1924 – August 3, 2020) in Moon Township, PA. Beloved wife of the late Max W. Leake, Sr.

Marian will be lovingly remembered by her children, Darlene Ashley, Max Jr. (Kathy), and Lynne (Rich); grandchildren, Jonathan (Veronica) and Ben; and great-grandchildren Genevieve and Natalie, as well as numerous relatives and friends.

She is survived by her sister Anita McKain. She was preceded in death by her sister Victoria Schugg, and brother Sonny Muniz.

Marian was an inspiration to all, a force to be reckoned with, feisty, fun, a great-cook. She was a wonderful hostess to all the parties they threw, loved to play cards, and she absolutely loved to dance.

Through her many years, Marian had a wide range of jobs. She pumped gas, greased cars and changed tires for Gulf Oil. She was a certified welder during WWII for the LST’s at American Bridge Company. She was a bartender, then waitressing at some of Pittsburgh’s best restaurants and hotels. But the job she was best at was being a Mom!

At Marian’s’ request, no service will be held. She will have a private burial at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.

If you would like to honor Marian in some way, she would have appreciated a donation being made to either Animal Friends or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Rita Marie Geier

RITA MARIE GEIER, 95, of Allison Park, formerly of Clinton, PA. in Findlay Township, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

She was born in Pittsburgh on May 19, 1925. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Stang) Weidner. She was the wife of the late William F. Geier who passed away on March 8, 2005.

She is survived by her sons, David (Karen) Geier of Fairview, WV, and Lawrence (Cheryl) Geier of Marshall Twp., PA., and a daughter Rita L. Geier of O’Brien, OR.; two grandchildren, Clifford Geier of Greensburg, PA. and Jonathan Geier of Marshall Township, PA.; and one great-grandson, William D. Geier of Greensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William T. Geier, her daughter-in-law, Betty Geier and her son-in-law, Keith Oliver.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, a private memorial service will be planned for a later date. She will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.

Rita loved spending time with her family and her many friends at the Findlay Township Senior Citizens Group. The family has suggested that memorial contributions can be made, if desired, in Rita’s memory to Findlay Township, c/o Stephanie Strain, 1271 Route 30, PO Box W, Clinton, PA 15026.
