LeRoy W. Marburger

LEROY W. MARBURGER, 97, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), originally of Clinton, died Friday morning, July 11, 2014, at West Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center, Moon Twp.

Born December 6, 1916, in Evans City, PA., he was the last surviving child born to the late William Johan and Nora (Nelson) Marburger.

He had worked as a coal miner starting with Craig Brothers and retired from Bologna Coal Company.  He was an avid farmer and a former partner with his sons, in an excavating business.  He was a member of the Hebron Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, M. Grace Marburger, and his second wife, G. Elaine (Bunny) Marburger; two brothers, William C. and Malval Marburger; and two sisters, Agnes Hall and Alma Bowers.

Surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carol Marburger, Imperial, and Hap and Joyce Marburger, Clinton. Also surviving are his stepchildren and their spouses, James and his wife Peg McCoy, Tim and his wife Donna McCoy, all of Hookstown, Rich and his wife Ann McCoy, Aliquippa, and Patricia and her husband Sam Spence, Hookstown.  He is also survived by six grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren; and his beloved friend and companion, Evelyn Ferranti of Aliquippa.

Friends are welcome to call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton.  Everyone attending his services are asked to meet at the Hebron Presbyterian Church, Route 30, Imperial, Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 10 a.m.. His pastor, the Rev. Cinda Isler, will officiate.

Cremation will take place and burial will follow at a future date in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

Memorials in his name, if desired, may be made to the Hebron Presbyterian Church.
