Margaret “Arlene” Cain
Margaret “Arlene” Cain (nee Wherry) of Gallatin TN will be sadly missed by her loving family after losing her long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on October 6, 2022. She was 83 years old and was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Cain, and her brothers Norman Wherry and Albert Wherry. She is survived by her children Barbara Smith (Mark), Beverly Cain and Stephen Cain (Lucy), and her grandchildren Allison Treasure (Mike), Randall Smith, Robert Cain and Catherine Cain, and her brother Larry Wherry.
Born July 14, 1939 in Clinton PA, Arlene graduated from West Allegheny High School in 1957 and married her beloved Bob Cain in 1958, and they raised their family in California, Pennsylvania and Illinois. After years as an executive secretary, she and Bob retired and moved to North Carolina and Tennessee to be
nearer their children and grandchildren. Arlene’s adventurous spirit, warm hospitality, positive attitude and authentic faith led her to make lifelong friends wherever she went and she exemplified her motto to
“Bloom Where You are Planted.” She loved quilting, reading, and serving the Lord, including many foreign mission trips. Arlene also loved singing hymns, much to the delight of caregivers in her later years. Throughout her life, Arlene was committed to make the most of every situation, and despite the early onset of Alzheimer’s Disease, she chose to bravely face her diagnosis and continued to bring joy to all
who knew her.
Friends will be received at the Moody Funeral Home, 1227 Route 30, Clinton, PA 15026 on Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 6-8 pm, where her service will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11 am. She will be laid to rest in the Clinton U.P. Church Cemetery.
