Harry ‘Corky’ Craig
HARRY ‘CORKY’ Craig, 86, of Clinton (Independence Twp.), died Sunday morning, March 1, 2015 in County Meadows, Bridgeville, PA.
Born March 31, 1928, in Imperial, he was the son of the late Frank and Matilda (McCutcheon) Craig.
He was a member of the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. He, along with his son, Don, owned and operated the business known as Craig Farms for 60 years. He had previously worked for over 40 years as a coal miner at Craig Brothers Coal, Starvaggi Coal, and the Aloe Coal Co., where he retired from. After putting his four daughters through school, he then worked at building up the family farm.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Brown Craig; a brother, Frank Craig; and a sister, Florence Ceyrollis.
Surviving are his second wife of 28 years, Laura Brown Craig, whom he married Nov. 22, 1986; his children and their spouses, Barbara Collwell, Meadville; Margaret (Donald) Hollerman, Ellwood City; Phyllis (Larry) Morrow, Bridgeville; Janet (J.O.) Miller, Dayton, OH; Donald (Barbara) Craig, Clinton; Thomas Craig, Clinton; a sister, Helen Shannon, Evans City; six stepchildren, Kenneth Walls, Georgia; Betty Domko, MO; William Dale Walls, Burgettstown; Joseph Walls, Aliquippa; Denise Domsic, New Jersey; Harold Walls, Virginia. He was the grandfather of 12, and great-grandfather of nine.
Family and friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a service will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Nick Mariatt of the Ohio United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
He will be laid to rest in the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Memorials in his name, can be made to the New Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, or one’s favorite charity.
Algie Rawlin “Rawn” Hilty
ALGIE RAWLIN “RAWN” HILTY, 89, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at HCR ManorCare, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Moody Hilty; brother, Eugene Hilty, and sisters, Mary Swast, Philis Nelson, and Gwendolyn Beale.
He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Hilty, Donna (Mike) McGuire; step-children, Patricia Leber, and Michael (Ginger) Leber; and grandchildren, Daniel, Kelly, Mark, and Neil McGuire, and Jonathan Leber.
Cremation will take place and a private ceremony will be held at a later date.
Michael E. Buxton
MICHAEL E. BUXTON, 64, of Midway, died Monday morning, January 19, 2015, in the comfort of his home, with family at his side.
Born December 12,1950, in Sewickley, he was the beloved son of Marjorie (Hughes) Buxton of Clinton and the late Harry Thomas Buxton, Sr.. Mike had worked as a truck driver with JEDs Trucking of Leetsdale.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Darla Buxton of Clinton, Mickie and her husband, Brian Monseau of Gerogetown, and Candis Mason, also of Georgetown. He was the brother of Harry T. Buxton, Jr.. Also surviving are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, where his services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cinda Isler, of the Hebron Presbyterian Church, officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.
