John Skvarj
JOHN SKVARJ, 86, of Imperial (Findlay Twp.) died Tuesday afternoon, March 22, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born September 29, 1929, in Aliquippa, a son of the late Frank and Katherine (Bauer) Skvarj, he was a retired police officer with the Findlay Twp. Police Department. A veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant, he was also a member of the American Legion, Imperial VFW Post 7714, and the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Skvarj, on August 9, 1997; his son, Frank Skvarj, on June 23, 2001; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Helen Skvarj; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jack Carr, and a sister, Mary Hissom.
Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Linda Skvarj, Imperial; a sister, Rose Doerr, Clinton; a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Jim Rakoczy, Clinton; two grandsons, John Skvarj and his fiancee, Beth Plack, and Matthew Skvarj and his wife, Jessica; and two great-granddaughters, Matyson and Harper Skvarj.
Friends will be received Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, where a blessing service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. Father Ben Vaghetto, of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Noblestown, will officiate.
He will be laid to rest in Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery with full military honors. members of the Beaver County Special Unit are asked to meet by 10:45 a.m. at the cemetery to perform military honors.
Mary L. (Cech) Andrews
MARY L. (CECH) ANDREWS, age 70, of Clinton, passed away Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of the late Martin Edward Andrews, Sr.; mother of Martin Andrews; and sister of Carol Peterman. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Ted Chapman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Mary’s name.
Robert T. Rybacki
ROBERT T. RYBACKI, 78, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.) died Sunday morning, February 28, 2016, at his Hookstown residence.
Born August 30, 1937, in Clinton, PA., a son of the late Joseph and Stella (Lincheck) Rybacki, he had worked as a laborer in the construction industry and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting turtles. Also, one who loved wildlife, he enjoyed feeding the deer and turkeys on his property.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Rybacki.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sandra (Hayward) Rybacki, whom he wed on September 4, 1999; children: Phillip (Karen) Rybacki, New Mexico; Robert Rybacki, Clinton; stepchildren, Debbie Gurule, Coraopolis; Todd (Lisa) Moore, Hookstown; Terry (Kimberly) Moore, Georgetown; Casey (Cassie) Moore, Georgetown; Colleen (Ron) Hickman, Ohio; dear friends, John and Terry Morrow, Hookstown; a brother, Joseph Rybacki, Clinton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewdki, of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Allegheny Cemetery, Temple of Memories.
Zachary A. Whitten
ZACHARY A. WHITTEN, age 18, of Moon Twp., passed away with his loving family at his side on February 6, 2016.
Loving son to Steven and Dawn (Thomson) Whitten; grandson of Robert and the late Loretta (Nana) Zackowski, Louise (Greeson) and the late Jerry Beverly. Zack is survived by uncles: Danny Thomson, Doug, David, and Robert Whitten, along with numerous aunts, great aunts, and cousins.
Zachary belonged to the Steel Workers Union #14693 and worked with his father as a welders helper. Zack greatly enjoyed deer hunting with both his father and grandfather; and enjoyed dirt bike riding in his free time. He will be greatly missed by many.
Friends will be received at the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, Thursday from 6-8 p.m with a service at 7:30 p.m., Pastor Jason Hefner officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in Zack’s name to one of the following: American Cancer Society Greater Pittsburgh or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Karen R. Price
KAREN R. PRICE, age 69, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), passed away Friday, February 5, 2016.
Dearest daughter of Ruth E. (Shevlin) Edwards of Greentree and the late Kenneth E. Edwards; beloved wife of Kalman C. Price; beloved mother of Melissa “Missy” (Wayne) Price-Colteryahn of Clinton and Karen “Kerry” (Stanley) Price-Harmon of Franklin County. Also surviving are her four grandchildren, Alexandria “Alex” Colteryahn, Kacie (Bryce Gerboc) Colteryahn, Kyria McCullough and Joshua Easterday. Also surviving is a brother, Kenneth (Judy) Edwards; sister-in-law, Sandy Edwards; and her late brother, Wayne Edwards.
Friends are welcome to call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton where parting prayers will be offered Thursday at 10:45 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, Route 30, Imperial.
Robert K. Malone, Sr.
ROBERT K. MALONE, SR., 92, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), died Wednesday afternoon in the comfort of his home January 20, 2016.
Born May 19, 1923 in New Castle, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Margaret (Sallade) Malone. A member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church, he was retired from the Pittsburgh Coke & Chemical Co. where he worked as a manager. He was also a veteran of World war II, serving as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Mary Arlene (Beers) Malone on October 24, 2013. The couple were wed on December 19, 1942.
Surviving are his children, Robert K. Jr. and his wife Gracie Malone of Coraopolis, Martin W. and his wife Suzie Malone of Meadville, and Jane Sanko of Clinton, and two nieces, Arlene and her husband Hank Nettling and Jackie Maxwell. Seven beloved grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
Friends will be received Friday from 4-8 p.m. only in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.. His pastor, the Rev. Jefferson Ellis of the Hanover Presbyterian Church will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, can be made to one’s favorite charity.
Fred J. Phillips
FRED J. PHILLIPS, 94, of Aliquippa, PA. passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016.
Fred was married to Jean Ann Phillips for 79 years, the love of his life. He was the son of Fred and Stella Phillips and the brother of Thomas, Joseph, and Mildred.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Ann, son, Fred James, and daughter, Betty Lasky.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; son-in-law, Jesse Lasky; his five grandchildren, Larry Lasky, Lori Herrly, Chad Phillips, Adam Phillips and Michael Phillips, and his six great-grandchildren, Mark Herrly, Rianna Lasky, Christina Lasky, Julie Lasky, Raquel Phillips, and Ana Christina Phillips.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, 1227 Route 30, Clinton, PA 15026.
Betty A. Gardner
ELIZABETH “BETTY” A. (TINNION) GARDNER, age 72, of Collier Twp., passed away on February 2, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of James J. Gardner; loving mother of Rebecca Jo (John) King and Frank (Erin) Gardner; sister of James (Anita) Tinnion of Tampa, FL., and Frank (Lynn) Tinnion; Grandmother of John and Michael King, Kaylee and Jack Gardner.
Friends will be received Thursday 6-8 PM and Friday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Cinda Isler officiating. Interment will be in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

Lewis W. Benish
LEWIS W. BENISH, age 63, of Burgettstown, died peacefully at home, December 29, 2015.
A son of the late Richard J. and Joan E. (Coulter) Benish, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Ricky.
He is survived by a wife, Geraldine of Carnegie; his brother, Larry, and a sister, Tricia (Carl) all of Burgettstown.
Interment and Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
