Wendy Gay Worrell

WENDY GAY WORRELL, 70, a long time resident of Merakey Allegheny Valley School of Coraopolis, passed away on Thursday morning, August 1, 2019, at the Brighton Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, Brighton Twp.

Born May 26, 1949, in Sewickley, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Argol and Birtrice (Cain) Worrell.

She is the dearest sister of Nila McCullough of Ohio, Dixie Schmella of Clinton, and the late Pamela King. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of her service at 1 p.m. The Rev. Ted Chapman of the Clinton Wesleyan Church will officiate.

She will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

Melody Ann Eaton

MELODY ANN EATON, 72, of Clinton (Independence Twp.) died Saturday morning, July 27, 2019, in the comfort of her home with family at her side.

Born December 7, 1946, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Robert James and Irene Caroline (Knobbs) Ubrey.

She is the former wife of Keith Eaton; mother of Scott (Valarie) Eaton, Christine (Aaron) Martinez, Becky (Corey) Campbell, and Brian Eaton; twin sister of Roberta Venanzio; sister of Robert Ubrey, and the late Thomas Ubrey. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

As per her wishes, there will be no viewing, and cremation will take place.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Clinton Wesleyan Church, 1022 Clinton Rd., Clinton, PA 15026. The Rev. Ted Chapman will officiate.

Eloise ‘Ellie” (Rose) Solomon Paull

ELOISE ‘ELLIE’ (ROSE) SOLOMON PAULL, 90, of Clinton, passed peacefully in the comfort of her home on Monday morning, July 8, 2019.

Ellie was born January 30, 1929, in New London, Ohio to the late Ray and Hazel (Close) Rose.

As a child she frequently moved with her family from farm to farm, as her father sought work. Eventually, they settled in the Clinton area on the Meanor Farm. She met and married John Solomon when she was 18. They had four sons together. After her husband John died suddenly at the age of 49, she worked at the telephone company, Gilmary School and other jobs to make ends meet. In 1971, she met and married Frank Paull and shortly after was elected Tax Collector for Findlay Township, a position she held for 16 years. Ellie and Paul enjoyed a wonderful life together, whether having Steeler parties, card club, dancing, or just being with friends and family. The greatest joy for them was family; their 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren were especially cherished.

She is survived by her children, John (Mary Jo) Solomon, Ronald (Bonnie) Solomon, and Randy (Kim) Solomon; her stepchildren, Frank (Susie) Paull, Judith (Allen) Linsky, Kathleen (Will) Kimbrough, Robert (Jean) Paull, Steve (Liz) Paull and Loraine Schueler. Also surviving is a sister, Glenna Mervosh.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Beverly Solomon, and a sister, Phyllis Rose.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides of Good Samaritan Hospice for the wonderful care provided her in her final days.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton on Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 where her funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., the Rev. Ted Chapman officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in her name to the Clinton Wesleyan Church.

Stephen Jacob Mamula

STEPHEN JACOB MAMULA, 25, of Aliquippa, (Independence Twp.) died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at UPMC Mercy Hospital.

Born July 28, 1993, in Beaver, the beloved son of Stepthen W. Mamula and Christiana M. (Anskate) Mamula.

Stephen was a student at Penn State, Behrend and received all of his sacraments at Our Lady of Fatima, Aliquippa. He was an avid hockey fan, reader, and loved snow boarding.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Marian and her husband, Lynn Parks of Raccoon Twp.; his girlfriend, Marissa Lanzel of Hollidaysburg, Pa. He was also so loved by her parents, Mary Jo and David Lanzel, and their children. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Mamula, Sr. and maternal grandparents, Sam and Lucy Anskate.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, on Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Everyone is asked to meet Friday morning at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 2270 Brodhead Road, Aliquippa, PA 15001, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Marlene A. Cain

MARLENE A. CAIN, age 80, of Clinton, died peacefully on Saturday evening, May 4, 2019.

She was the wife of the late Marvin Cain; mother of Carl Cain, Debra Wilson, Clint (Kelly) Cain, and Karen Cain (Jim Davidson): sister of Steve Miller (Tammy Phillips). Also surviving are six grandchildren; and her beloved fur baby, Molly.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Rt. 30, Clinton, Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

William J. Reddinger

WILLIAM J. REDDINGER, 89, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died in the comfort of his home Saturday morning, May 4, 2019, with his family at his side.

Born November 11, 1929, in Templeton, PA., a son of the late Herman Hervey and Eva Jane (Myers) Reddinger, he had worked as a stationary engineer in the hotel industry. William was a member of the Freedom Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed going to the Canfield Fair, going to antique shows, and his miniature train displays which he had collected for years. He also enjoyed camping, water skiing and farming.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Betty (Cain) Reddinger, who he wed April 25, 1950. He was the beloved father of Debbie and her late husband Fred Simunick, Raccoon Twp., Randy and Rhonda Reddinger, Rome, Pa.: and Shari and David Moore, and Richard Reddinger, all of Raccoon Twp.; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Cathy Reddinger, Raccoon Twp.; nine grandchildren, Matt and Beth Simunick, Chrissy (Keith) Helwig, Charity (Corey) Ulrich, Lucas (Kira) Reddinger, Brittany (Will) Enders, Amanda Moore, Nicole (Kevin) Parker, and Jamie Moore; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with his son, Pastor Randy Reddinger and son-in-law, Pastor Dave Moore officiating.

He will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

Janette A. Vermeulen

JANETTE A. Vermeulen, age 83, died Saturday evening, March 30, 2019, in the West Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center, Moon Twp.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Vermeulen, Sr. and her parents, Myrtle Hughes and Clifford C. Andrews. She is survived by her son, Joseph A. Vermeulen, Jr.

All arrangements will be private.

James Anthony (Jim) Rakoczy

JAMES ANTHONY (JIM) RAKOCZY, 85, of Clinton, passed peacefully Monday evening, February 11, 2019, at his Clinton residence, surrounded by his devoted wife of 63 years and his family.

Born December 31, 1933 in McKees Rocks, he was a son of the late Anthony and Stella (Ginosky) Rakoczy. He had resided in Clinton for the past 63 years.

Jim was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a wonderful life with his wife, Donna M. Skvarj Rakoczy, whom he married October 1, 1955. They have passed along their deep sense of family values to their children, Jim Rakoczy and his wife Karen of Hookstown, Kathy Sattler and her husband Terry of Prosperity, and Betsy Marvich and her husband Dave of Georgetown, and a foster son Anthony Sacco and his wife Sara of CO.

Also suffering a deep sense of loss are his grandchildren, Jimmy Rakoczy, Katie Rakoczy, Kristen (Joel) Levy, Heather (Ian) Martin, Jon (Ashley) Sattler, Adam (Bridget) Sattler, Matthew (Madeline, Alex) Marvich, and Nicholas (Norma) Marvich. His great grandchildren are Mackenzie and Jackson Martin, Jacob Marvich, Finn and Elliana Sattler, Mason Levy, Brandon, Bria, and Braylee Bruce, and Abby Sacco.

Jim worked as a press operator for 21 years. Following the closure of St. Regis Paper Co., until her retired in 1996, he was employed in the HVAC profession. He was an enthusiastic baseball coach for Clinton Little League and Pony League for many years.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Rt. 30, Clinton, Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held Saturday, at 11:30 a.m. with Father Joseph H. Carr, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation can be made in his name to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh PA. 15232.

With gratitude, the family extends their thanks to Dr. Benjamin Davies and Dr. Michael Sherry for their care and compassion, and to Father Joseph Carr for his spiritual guidance during this journey.

James W. McCaffrey

JAMES W. McCaffrey, 76, of Imperial, (Independence Twp.) died Wednesday, January 9, 2019, in the comfort of his home with family at his side.

Born August 16, 1942, in Washington, PA., he was the son of the late Edward and Esther (Watson) McCaffrey.

He had worked as a mechanic for US Air for over 32 years and was an avid motorcyclist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Hatton, and a sister, Jeanne Mora.

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane (Cool) McCaffrey; whom he married July 28, 1961; father of Dr. Dawn McCaffrey and Ron Hayes, James R. and Kristen McCaffrey; brother of Kenneth and Tish McCaffrey; brother-in-law of Juan Mora; and grandfather of Khylinn and Griffin Hayes, and Maura McCaffrey; great-grandfather of Khylas Hayes.

There will not be any visitation or services.

Harold E. Cain

HAROLD E. CAIN, 91, of Imperial, (Independence Twp.) died on Friday morning, January 4, 2019, in the comfort of his home with family at his side.

Born October 31, 1927, in Clinton, the son of the late Paul Gilbert and Elizabeth Irene (Holmes) Cain.

He had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the coal industry and was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in China during World War II, in the engineering division. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena of Wireton, and the Divine Child Jesus Pio Prayer Group, of Beaver Valley. Harold was also a member of the Beaver Valley Antique Tractor Association and spent many years delivering Meals on Wheels. He also volunteered at the Findlay Christmas Light Up Celebration giving hayrides, and at Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery cutting miles of grass. He helped out many neighbors when help was needed and enjoyed meeting his tractor buddies at Janoski’s for Thursday morning breakfast.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty A. (Dumrauf) Cain, on August 19, 1991; two brothers, David and Raymond Cain; three sisters, Betty Cain, Hazel Loverosky, and Ella Dee McCullough.

Surviving are his second wife of 26 years, Janis (Gloff) Cain; his children and their spouses, Harry J. (Sally) Cain of Lebanon, PA., Patty (Bob) Dames of Murdocksville, Joseph (Andrea) Cain of New Brighton, Thomas (Jennifer Frantz) Cain of Coraopolis, and Michael Cain of Hopewell. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Terri (Rich) Gazda of Coraopolis, Cyndy (Jeff) Smith of Maryland, Sherrie Sweeny of Baden, and Michelle (Randy) Wilson of Hanover Twp.; a sister, Ida Bialowas of Butler; eight grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton on Monday, January 7, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena, 199 McGovern Blvd., Crescent, PA. 15046, Father Kurimsky celebrant. EVERYONE IS TO MEET AT THE CHURCH BY 9:45 a.m.

Burial will follow with full Military Honors at Resurrection Cemetery. Members of the Beaver County Special Unit are to meet at the cemetery by 11:15 a.m. Memorials in his name if desired can be made to the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery Perpetual Care Trust Fund at 69 Strouss Road, Imperial, PA 15126.
