James Anthony (Jim) Rakoczy

JAMES ANTHONY (JIM) RAKOCZY, 85, of Clinton, passed peacefully Monday evening, February 11, 2019, at his Clinton residence, surrounded by his devoted wife of 63 years and his family.

Born December 31, 1933 in McKees Rocks, he was a son of the late Anthony and Stella (Ginosky) Rakoczy. He had resided in Clinton for the past 63 years.

Jim was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a wonderful life with his wife, Donna M. Skvarj Rakoczy, whom he married October 1, 1955. They have passed along their deep sense of family values to their children, Jim Rakoczy and his wife Karen of Hookstown, Kathy Sattler and her husband Terry of Prosperity, and Betsy Marvich and her husband Dave of Georgetown, and a foster son Anthony Sacco and his wife Sara of CO.

Also suffering a deep sense of loss are his grandchildren, Jimmy Rakoczy, Katie Rakoczy, Kristen (Joel) Levy, Heather (Ian) Martin, Jon (Ashley) Sattler, Adam (Bridget) Sattler, Matthew (Madeline, Alex) Marvich, and Nicholas (Norma) Marvich. His great grandchildren are Mackenzie and Jackson Martin, Jacob Marvich, Finn and Elliana Sattler, Mason Levy, Brandon, Bria, and Braylee Bruce, and Abby Sacco.

Jim worked as a press operator for 21 years. Following the closure of St. Regis Paper Co., until her retired in 1996, he was employed in the HVAC profession. He was an enthusiastic baseball coach for Clinton Little League and Pony League for many years.

Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Rt. 30, Clinton, Thursday and Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a Blessing Service will be held Saturday, at 11:30 a.m. with Father Joseph H. Carr, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, a donation can be made in his name to UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave., Pittsburgh PA. 15232.

With gratitude, the family extends their thanks to Dr. Benjamin Davies and Dr. Michael Sherry for their care and compassion, and to Father Joseph Carr for his spiritual guidance during this journey.
