Francis D. ‘Sonny’ Janoski
FRANCIS D. ‘SONNY’ JANOSKI, age 78, of Clinton, passed Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2015, at UPMC Mercy, with his family at his side.
Born March 23, 1937, in Mt. Lebanon, he was the last surviving child born to the late Michael J. and Anna Dolores (Zeleskey) Janoski.
A member of St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church of Imperial, he was the founder and lifetime owner and operator, along with his wife, JoAnn, of Janoski Farms. He was also a member of Pennsylvania Vegetable Growers Association, the Green Star Co-Op, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Pennsylvania Flower Growers Association, and was President of the Allegheny County Fruit and Vegetable Association.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Daniel Janoski on April 12, 2011; two brothers, Martin and Michael Janoski, Jr.; three sisters, Dolores Gigliotti, Elverna Wheeler, and Regina Pyszcznski.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, JoAnn M. (Frederick) Janoski, whom he married June 30, 1962; his children, Deborah and Tim Seibel of Clinton, Michael and Patty Janoski of Clinton, and Diane and Ken Swimkosky of Robinson Twp.; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Janoski of South Fayette; also surviving are 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the MOODY FUNERAL HOME, Route 30, Clinton, Monday 5-9 p.m., and Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. where parting prayers will be offered Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Columbkille Roman Catholic Church, Imperial. Father Paul Merkovosky, celebrant. He will be laid to rest in the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery.
Memorials in his name, if desired, may be made to the Hopewell-Hebron Cemetery, 1771 Route 30, Imperial, Pa. 15126, for the continued perpetual care of the cemetery.
